Anne Leonard (University of Chicago)

Anne Leonard’s work focuses on musical aspects of nineteenth-century art, particularly in France, but also in Britain, Belgium, and in Europe more broadly.  She is especially interested in Symbolism and Wagnerism, major international movements of the late nineteenth century, and have published on two Continental artists, Henri Fantin-Latour and Fernand Khnopff, who both had close connections with Britain.
